Literature Text

It looked as old as the soil it sat upon-smoke, rising into the air from the stone chimneys. Misshapen stones and clots of dirt made the thing. It looked as if it would fall apart at any second, but it wouldn’t, because it couldn’t. Magic is what kept this mess together, what made it sputter and smoke as it moved across the high green hills. Twinkling lights glittered the stony mass, for large and small lights form the windows shone. Slowly the mass of stone and dirt made its way across the land, a trail of smoke trailing behind. Its doors would clatter and hang about as its legs moved forward on. People below in the village would gasp and whisper saying “There goes Howl’s Moving Castle!” Inside this smoking beast sat a young man in a silk suit, a smile of gold and glassy green eyes as bright as marbles. His fair brown hair hung from his head as he sat upon his chair, his eyes upon a fired demon that lay in his fireplace. This man was a wizard, a charming man, a demon said to rip out the hearts of young women from their chest and devour them. A wizard of the name of Howl, the owner of this castle, and everything within his grasp.

I had to write about something I've read over the summer.

So I sat down for like two minutes and made this.

Calcifer, Howl, and his castle belong to Hayao Miyazaki and Diana Wane Jones
